Canon's new concept golf laser rangefinder camera PowerShot GOLF for 2024

On May 21, 2024, Canon Hong Kong announced that it will soon launch a new concept golf laser rangefinder camera, PowerShot GOLF, which can be used to shoot videos and photos on the green, marking its first entry into the laser rangefinder market.

In addition to the features that many rangefinders have today, the PowerShot GOLF also has the advantage of photo and video shooting capabilities. With just a few simple steps, you can easily take photos or videos including yardage measurement data to provide users with detailed information.
In addition to straight-line measurements, PowerShot GOLF also features a slope mode to measure and display distance adjusted for slope. When the height difference of the slope makes it difficult to estimate the target distance, this mode can help users judge the target distance. When multiple subjects are detected, the built-in flagpole lock function selects the closest target to measure the distance. When the measurement button is half pressed, the continuous ranging function will continuously activate the ranging laser. Using both functions simultaneously ensures that the yardage measurement target remains accurate.
Presenting detailed images from a distance
The PowerShot GOLF is equipped with a high-quality 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF), and its 60-fps display provides clear viewing images and information prompts. This specification can support close-up viewing, allowing users to carefully analyze distant targets before hitting the ball. The PowerShot GOLF's viewing angle is equivalent to 410 mm on a full-frame camera and 820 mm when using 2x digital zoom. The rangefinder is also equipped with optical image stabilization technology to keep the target subject stable in the user's field of view.
Unique convenient design
The PowerShot GOLF is palm-sized, and the ergonomic button design allows users to operate the camera quickly and intuitively with one hand. The camera meets the IPX4 splash-proof standard, so users can use it even in light rain. The PowerShot GOLF can be easily charged via the USB-C port and uses a MicroSD memory card for convenient data transfer.
