Tokyo, February 20, 2024 - FUJIFILM Corporation (President and Executive President, Representative Director: Teiichi Goto) announced that it will release the highly reliable digital camera "FUJIFILM X100VI" in late February 2024. Models with fixed functions for higher image quality and performance.
The first model in the "X100 Series" was the FUJIFILM X100, which was launched in 2011.
The optical and electronic systems achieve high-quality appearance and intuitive operability, and high image quality is achieved through unique color reproduction.

The new "X100VI" retains the popular "Hybrid Viewfinder" and outstanding design, while adopting a 40.2-megapixel back-illuminated "X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR" sensor and a high-speed "X-Processor 5" image processing engine. In addition, it adopts a newly developed built-in image stabilization function for the first time in the X100 series, with up to 6.0 stops, while achieving a compact and lightweight body weighing approximately 521g. It can be used in a variety of photography situations. Combining meticulous attention to design and operability detail with exceptional features that deliver superb image quality, the X100VI brings the joy of camera ownership and the wonder of photography to a wide range of users, from professional photographers to photography enthusiasts.

The Fujifilm Group was founded in 1934 with the mission of domestically producing photographic and motion picture films and will celebrate its 90th anniversary on January 20, 2024.

Feature
High-performance sensor and high-speed image processing engine to achieve high image quality and performance.
The new sensor is equipped with a back-illuminated "X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR" sensor with a resolution of approximately 40.2 million pixels. Thanks to an improved pixel structure, it can capture more light more efficiently, making it possible to use ISO 125 (the expanded sensitivity in previous models) as the normal sensitivity. In addition, the new sensor is combined with a 23mm F2.0 lens with high-resolution performance to fully utilize approximately 40.2 million pixels to provide clear, high-resolution images.
For the first time, the X Series digital cameras, including the X100 Series, have adopted the "REALA ACE" mode, which combines faithful color reproduction with the clear gradation in the "Film Simulation" mode to achieve a wide range of tones. Users can switch between a total of 20 modes according to the subject and scene, and enjoy a variety of color expressions, just like selecting a movie.
This is the first camera in the X100 series to feature Subject Detection AF built using deep learning AI technology. It can detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes, trains, insects and drones. In addition, the camera is equipped with a more advanced AF prediction algorithm than previous models. A wide variety of subjects can be photographed, including fast-moving cars and animals.
Enhanced functions to further expand the shooting range
The X100 series is equipped with a newly developed 5-axis in-body image stabilization function that can reach up to level 6.0, but the body is light and compact, weighing only 521 grams. The X100 series does not sacrifice the X100 series' hallmark - portability. It allows comfortable handheld shooting even in dark scenes such as night scenes.
The “Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder” allows users to switch freely between the optical viewfinder (OVF) and the electronic viewfinder (EVF), pursuing the X100 series’ signature “through-the-viewfinder shooting”. The EVF allows the photographer to check exposure and other shooting conditions.
The "Electronic Rangefinder" function allows the small EVF to be displayed simultaneously on the OVF, allowing photographers to capture the subject in the OVF while the small EVF can magnify the focus area, thus realizing various possibilities of the viewfinder. This feature is very convenient for taking snapshots.
The X100VI is the first camera in the X100 series to support 6.2K/30P video recording. A tracking AF function during movie recording is also provided to enable high-quality movie recording.
Compatible with Frame.io camera-to-cloud service. Video and still image files can be uploaded directly to Frame.io, greatly speeding up the workflow from capture to editing.
Exquisite product design, ultimate functional beauty
The aluminum used on the top and bottom of the camera body has been carefully molded, textured, and colored to create a high-quality appearance.
The ultra-thin tiltable LCD monitor retracts to a completely flat position. It can be used for a variety of shooting styles from high and low angles. In addition, excellent touch response and intuitive operability provide a high level of functional aesthetics.
The shape of the grip area has been fine-tuned to improve grip. The buttons on the back of the camera have also been moved to a position that is more accessible to the right hand, making shooting through the viewfinder more comfortable.
A wide range of accessories to expand your photography fun
The camera is weather-resistant when the AR-X100 adapter (sold separately) and PRF-49 protection filter (sold separately) are attached. This allows users to shoot safely even in light rain or dusty outdoor conditions.
The lens hood "LH-X100" (sold separately) is also compatible. In addition to being lightweight and crafted from machined metal, the hood also features slits so that it does not obstruct the view when looking through the viewing window, thus achieving both light-blocking performance and good design.
Two types of conversion lenses (sold separately) allow users to change focal length without changing optical performance or aperture value, further expanding their photographic enjoyment.
1) Wide-angle conversion lens "WCL-X100 II"
The focal length can be changed by about 0.8x to 19mm (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format), which is useful for landscape photography.
2) TCL-X100 II Telephoto Conversion Lens
The focal length has been increased by approximately 1.4 times to 33mm (equivalent to 50mm in 35mm format), making it ideal for portrait photography, etc. with its natural perspective.
