On April 26, 2024, Tilta launched the Khronos Ultimate Kit smartphone photography ecosystem for iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max, and on October 30, 2024, it was named one of the best inventions of 2024 by Time magazine for "raising the level of smartphone filmmaking."
The Khronos Ecosystem is a modular system designed to unlock the full cinematic potential of iPhone. It all starts with a protective case with integrated circuits that provide power and seamless connectivity to a variety of accessories. With Apple releasing the iPhone 16 Pro series on September 9, 2024, Tilta demonstrated the next-generation Khronos ecosystem designed specifically for the iPhone 16 Pro series at the Profusion Expo and Inter BEE 2024 in the United States in November 2024.
The new Khronos powers iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max, retaining its signature innovations and further enhancing them. From the integrated internal circuitry to the KHRONOS™ Quick Release, every aspect is designed to keep up with the times. The new version is 15% lighter than the previous iPhone 15 Pro version. It is made of 6-series aluminum alloy. The Pro version weighs 58.5 grams and the Pro Max version weighs only 67 grams. The protective case is available in five colors: forest green, metallic orange, space gray, titanium white and black.
The multi-functional back panel is equipped with a stand, non-slip hand strap and retractable utility knife. The modular design can also accommodate a variety of accessories and is powered by the integrated circuit of the protective case, including lenses, handles, microphones, lights, etc., and fully control the camera control functions of the iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max through direct control. A new anti-slip quick-release system has been added, which can be installed without tools, reducing installation and removal time compared to the previous version that required installation and removal of screws.
The new version also supports the original Khronos USB-C hub, providing additional ports for connecting external SSDs and HDMI, while the Focus PD Handle can fully control the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max camera focus, zoom, recording and stop functions, and power accessories at the same time.
The name “Khronos” comes from the Greek word for “time” and embodies a profound concept. It is more than just a phone case, it is also a container for precious memories shared between family, friends and loved ones.
