June 17, 2024 Nikon Corporation (Nikon) launches a new high-performance camera model Z6III. The new camera has the signature features of the Z9 and Z8, outstanding performance and excellent specifications, setting a benchmark for specifications in the full-frame mid-range camera.

The new Z6III is designed to inspire the creativity of content creators and photography enthusiasts. The new camera retains the Z series’ brilliant design and is equipped with the award-winning camera features of the Z8 and Z9. The Z6III integrates innovative technologies such as a partially stacked sensor and the brightest EVF ever, embodying Nikon's pursuit of excellence in functionality and performance.
Z6III Main Features

Integrate the latest technology
The Z6III uses the world's first partially stacked CMOS sensor, which has a read speed 3.5 times faster than the Z6II. The sensor supports high-speed continuous shooting, enabling "pre-release shooting" with frame rates of up to 120 fps in DX format. In addition, the camera also supports shooting 24-megapixel images at 60 fps in FX format.
Inheriting the outstanding performance and functions of the top model
The advanced EVF further enhances the Z6III's capabilities. The EVF has a brightness of 4000 cd/m, a resolution of 5.76 million dots, and a wide color gamut. In addition, the partially stacked CMOS sensor reads data quickly, and Nikon EXPEED 7 processes information quickly, giving you a smooth EVF display experience when shooting moving subjects. When you fully press the shutter button and shoot continuously at 20 fps, the EVF refresh rate can reach 60 fps.
This latest Nikon camera also lets you create high-resolution videos, with Full HD/240p3 format supporting up to 10x slow motion video creation, plus support for 10-bit H.265 format, providing great flexibility for speed and color grading.
The Z6III inherits the outstanding performance and functions of the Nikon Z9 and Z8, including camera operation and custom settings. The Z6III has a nearly identical dial and button arrangement to the Z8, offering more customisable settings, including the ability to assign different AF-area modes.
The new camera’s AF detection range is the same as the Z9 and Z8, up to -10 EV, so you can easily shoot still life in dim conditions. The same excellent AF performance supports 9 types of subject detection, and the autofocus performance is outstanding in backlit scenes. Combined with better face detection capabilities, it can shorten the shooting time in different scenes. The AF speed of the Z6III has also been improved to about 20% faster than the Z6II.
You can also purchase the new MB-N14 battery pack separately to increase the power when used with the Z6III, making the camera even more reliable.
Not affected by climate, stronger heat dissipation capacity
If photographers want to capture wonderful moments of landscapes and wildlife in winter, the Z6III can meet their needs. The camera is made of Sereebo® P series carbon fiber and magnesium alloy, and adopts a highly efficient sealed design. It is sturdy, durable and cold-proof, and can be used in environments as low as -10℃.
Featuring an upgraded heat dissipation structure and battery efficiency, the Z6III can record up to 125 minutes6 of video in 4K UHD/60p (8-bit), making it a convenient choice for shooting weddings, live concerts, interviews and more. Videographers also have the flexibility to choose between shooting in 12-bit ProRes RAW HQ format or N-RAW format and enjoying resolutions up to 6k.
Explore more possibilities of image expression with new features
With Nikon's image browsing, processing and editing software NX Studio, you can take greater control of creative photography with the flexible color Picture Control function. This exciting new option provides even more freedom of expression for users of color blending and color grading, allowing them to intuitively adjust light and color to achieve their creative intent. Users can export configuration settings from NX Studio to the Z6III and register them as custom Picture Controls so that they can be applied at any time during shooting and the effects can be previewed in real time on the camera screen.
In addition, the Z6III also complements Nikon Imaging Cloud to further enhance the possibilities of imaging expression. Nikon Imaging Cloud is Nikon's new cloud service that supports the new Imaging Recipe. The Z6III firmware can be updated without the need for a computer or smart device; and once connected to Wi-Fi, images taken with the camera can be automatically uploaded to the Nikon Imaging Cloud and transferred to pre-configured third-party cloud storage spaces, giving you a faster and more convenient image storage and sharing experience.
High sensitivity performance
The Z6III can capture unforgettable and moving moments in dim conditions, with a sensitivity of up to ISO 64000 for stills and ISO 51200 for movies. The camera is equipped with the EXPEED 7 high-speed image processing engine, which has more outstanding noise reduction capabilities than the Z6II and can preserve the complex texture in photographic works. The Z6III body has built-in 8.0-stop 11 vibration reduction (VR), the highest level in the Nikon Z series cameras.
The Z6III uses the same algorithm as the Zf, achieving higher handheld shooting potential in dim scenes such as indoors and at night. In addition, the new camera features Focus Point VR12, which reduces blur in the focused area, helping you zoom in and refine the edges of photo subjects.
The Z6III is also equipped with electronic vibration reduction, which provides more effective image stabilization when recording movies.
NIKON IMAGING CLOUD Main Features
Nikon Imaging Cloud is Nikon's new cloud service that connects directly to the camera to provide users with convenient and fun functions for an excellent imaging experience. This service allows users to view selected imaging recipes and download the Picture Controls for these recipes. After adjusting properties such as hue, brightness, and contrast, users can save the new setting combination as a custom Picture Control. Nikon Imaging Cloud offers imaging recipes recommended by Nikon or supervised by creators, allowing users to explore new imaging styles that have never been tried before. Once the camera is connected to the Nikon Imaging Cloud via Wi-Fi, still images captured with the camera can be automatically uploaded directly to the Nikon Imaging Cloud or a pre-configured third-party cloud storage service. This feature greatly simplifies the data transfer process. In addition, you can enable the camera's automatic update function14 to automatically update the camera's firmware at a specified time, allowing you to easily update the firmware without using a computer, smartphone or memory card, while ensuring that the camera version is always up to date.
